Current Conditions: A strong area of high pressure over the eastern United States continues to keep things hot and dry across the region this afternoon. Low flow in the boundary layer is keeping fine particulate in the moderate range. Ozone levels continue to be in the code ORANGE range this afternoon with temperatures zooming into the lower 90s. Mostly clear again tonight with low temperatures in the middle and upper 60s. Fine particulate will be well into the moderate range. *** Wednesday’s forecast: Wednesday, the heat will continue with sunshine for the most part. The high will shift just to our south and east, and this will allow for a light southwest wind. The air will continue to be dry, so fine particulate should be kept from rising beyond the moderate range. Ozone levels will be in the code ORANGE range once more Wednesday afternoon, with highs into the lower and middle 90s. Mostly clear again Wednesday night with low temperatures in the middle and upper 60s. *** Extended forecast: Another hot day will be on tap for Thursday with a light southwest flow. Highs again surpassing 90 degrees in many locations. Both ozone and fine particulate levels have the chance to get into the code ORANGE range.
