Reporter’s Notebook: Mass transit forum

By Jason Scott

Excerpt:

A public forum on mass transit issues and the future of mass transit in Cumberland County and throughout the region will be held tonight at the Hampden Township Emergency Services Building North, 1200 Good Hope Road.

Hosted by the county commissioners, the forum will be held 6:30-9 p.m.

The commissioners have invited federal, state and local officials, including representatives from the Harrisburg Area Transportation Study, Capital Area Transit, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration and Norfolk Southern.

The impact of regional growth and development trends on transit service, as well as how transit projects are planned, prioritized and funded are some of the topics to be addressed.

An opportunity will be given for public input and questions of the panel members.
