Wednesday’s forecast: A frontal boundary will stall out just to our south Wednesday, with a combination of sunshine and patchy cloudiness. Ozone production will continue to ramp up, perhaps into the code ORANGE range, as afternoon temperatures rise into the lower 90s. Fine particulate may drop some Wednesday afternoon, but will remain well into the moderate range as winds remain light. Muggy with areas of fog Wednesday night with lows in the lower to middle 70s. *** Extended forecast: A large area of high pressure over the Plains will slowly move to the east and be a major influence in our weather late this week on into the weekend. Some of the hottest weather of the summer will be upon us as temperatures rise into the upper 90s, with heat indexes over 100. There is very little chance for rainfall in the Thursday to Saturday period. Ozone levels will continue to be elevated, and code ORANGE levels are likely late this week.
