110 AQI Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups Ozone

An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for the region as well as an Ozone Action Day. High humidity (dew points around 70 degrees) have helped cause a rise in PM 2.5 levels as well, currently in mid to upper moderate range for the day. This will last into the weekend with no relief until the very late Sunday to late Monday/early Tuesday timeframe. ***Fridays Forecast: So for Friday, high pressure continues to dominate which will result in a continuation of hazy, hot, and humid conditions once again. A frontal boundary will approach the Commonwealth from the north but will slow to a screeching halt and not pass to our south to bring any change in current heat wave. Wind direction may shift to more of a west-northwesterly component, but conditions should still be quite similar to Thursday with forecast highs reaching the upper 90s with a few locations peeking again into the 100s. Dew point temperatures will remain in low to mid 70s, making it again feel like PA is located in the tropics instead of the Northeast. With plenty of sunshine ozone will once again rise into Code ORANGE range so an Ozone Action Day will be issued. PM 2.5 levels will continue to rise and add to what the region experienced Thursday and enter Code ORANGE range. An Air Quality Action Day will also be issued and could last through the weekend.
